mallards rouens pekins continued

Im using my phone and it wont let me post a reply on my original post. Anyways what breed is better as pets.

Pekins are loud, can have leg problems.
Mallards can fly.
Rouens are big, can have leg problems.

Any ducks can be pets if you raise them alongside humans, and give them plenty of interaction daily.

I have pekins and rouens, and neither of them are good 'pets'. I suppose if you messed with them a lot (which I don't), they would probably be more friendly.

I wouldn't keep mallards unless they were pinioned. You will most likely lose them when the wild ones leave for the winter.

ETA: And I agree with the above poster, pekins are very loud! But I have a rouen duck youngster (would that be a duck-ette?

) that has a good mouth on her as well. Still not as loud as the pekin ducks are though!
