I live in hawaii so my 5 week old chicks have been outside in the big run for 2 weeks w a heat lamp at night
I have 6 old ladies and 3 pullets, I have been keeping them in a wire dog kennel in the big run and heat at night
I have been letting them roam in the cage about 2 hrs a day
Today I let them free range w the big girls and my jack russel ran up and my "rooster" girl attacked him buffed up. When he chased a chick.
All six ladies peck the chicks BUT I feel that her protecting them is an amazing step forward to a good integration?
