Got a good assortment of eggs from a local breeder -- buff orp, gold star, buff sussex, light sussex, and barred rock. The RI White didn't finish zipping.
I picked mom out of the box and put her on the floor of the coop, moving the babies who scuttled back underneath her. Blocked off a part of the coop for them for now. All went quite well and the babies are out investigating the food/water/straw and finding their way back underneath mom, who seems eternally patient and gentle. Not really wanting any broodies, but this was definitely a good one.
