I've been keeping an eye on the monitor all day. Can't wait to see the little duckling(s) when it is finally out. Peeping is a good sign. This means the lungs get full of oxygen and the duck is absorbing its yolk faster. You do need to keep an eye on the egg, because you may have to help if the duck does not come out in 24 hours. Just don't mess with it unless it is that long. I will watch this board and walk you through it if needed. Most likely it will be all fine.

It should feel like a humid sauna now.

You know what's a real miracle to me besides the obvious is that the seven of the nine eggs left are the FLOATERS that I'd thrown out and had to retrieve from the trash!!! My new advice is count em all ducks until it's proven otherwise!!!

NOOOOO KIDDING! Tell that little duckie to hurry it up! LOL. Or I'll end up on here all night!

I've seen a float test study on incubating chicken eggs. They were able to tell the age by their float. The larger the air sack the older the egg or the further along in their incubation. I was somewhat shocked when you tossed them, good that someone else caught it and said something. I now believe your exploding eggs where the ones that looked like they were in their first week. They just died before they got further along. That is why I personally only candle weekly. Because then you will see big difference and no guesses. I think you duck will hatch this night. How are the other eggs doing? You probably have to wait up to 4 days to know if the black looking onces will hatch or not. I hope you will have more then one. Well it's up to mother nature.

I'll probably check on them every time I get up to pee ... usually about two or three times a night and maybe more tonight because I'm anxious about it too! Off to bed after this post so I'll be posting in the morning eastern time! No other cracked eggs that I can tell yet.

Oh, how exciting! I can't wait to see your new baby once it's out!
