If these are your first chicks, you have some surprises and learning coming soon. Same as the rest of us when we first started.

  1. a one week old chick can jump up a foot
  2. a two week old chick can jump up 2 feet

Even without full flight feathers, they are strong little buggers.

I trust you have their coop at least 90% built. Even though we joke that the proper order is to get the chicks then start on the coop because they won't need it for a few weeks, that rarely works out well.

OH! I just noticed you joined this month

Lol i just downloaded the app but ive been reading on here occasionally. I already have grown chickens and coops so no worries.
I grew up with chicks/chickens. I was just showing my cave to others so apparently everyone can be negative towards me and critique me.
Noted wont share again! Way to make someone feel welcome!

This bin does not narrow. Ive done the whole baby chick thing with less space. I think the pic doesn't do it justice.
Get out your measuring tape. Just about every single storage tote I have ever come across is smaller on the bottom than the top. That tote has barely enough room for the food, water, and heating pad. There is no space for chicks to run around and just be chicks. It's too small. Not trying to be mean, just pointing out the obvious.
