Howdy y'all
Ok...so last year I raised my chicks using the MHP . I'm all set up for my chicks that should be here today or tomorrow!! I'm in Central KY, and our current temperatures are in the low to mid 80's during the day, and mid to upper 60's at night. I currently have 4 chicks...2 are 6 weeks old, and 2 are 7 weeks old .They are no longer using the MHP, preferring to snuggle up together in the farthest corner away from it .So I figure they don't need it anymore. So the day-old chicks arriving at any time will get the heating pad. But with the temps being so warm, how high (or low) should I set the temperature on the MHP? The range is from 1 to 6 on the controls of the pad. Should I set it to maybe 3 and watch to see if that's enough? I'd sure appreciate any advice!
