Our broody has hatched her first egg, and today is day 3 and she is off the nest. I actually found a huge broody poop in the nesting area this morning (weird), and now she has been doing lots of poops around the place as she chases after baby, but these are rather funky looking poops, very liquidy. I am assuming this is normal as her system readjusts, but just wanted to check that nothing is amiss?

My hen did the exact same thing. She's fine

@Nicky S Congratulations Was just looking at your pics and noticed feed in brooder is that a pelleted feed looks to be pretty large pieces for hatchlings?
It’s starter feed - DuMOR organic - I actually went out and got it because the one I already had in looked like the pieces were too big 😂 It says 0-17 weeks, but I also think it has large bits in it compared to the one I had for our first babies! Still, there are plenty of crumbles and mamma is breaking up bits, and we are throwing in a bit of egg etc. here and there - chick’s crop is enormous by the end of the day so I’m guessing they are doing ok?
