Mamma gave up on eggs too early!

She has internally pipped!! I had to fill the water channels, so I went ahead and candled without moving the egg too much and I saw her little beak in the air cell! I can also occasionally hear a little peep! I’m so excited!!! I run to the incubator every 10 minutes excepting a external pip, but so far, I don’t have one.

I gave up on trying to incubate my hens last fertile eggs. I think I did finally reach the point where they were no longer fertile. I DID though get a grown rooster. He is so pretty! A white Silkie with black spots. He is so gentle that my hen was being to abusive to him. He is camping in the bathroom as I slowly get the two of them to fall in love without one of them loosing an eye in the process. I named him George...cause I want to kiss him and hug him and squeeze him. :)

I have a "George" too, for the same reason.
My opinion, let him stand up to the girls. They will keep doing it, and the longer you baby him, the longer it will take for them to accept him.

Yesterday was their first day of meeting and she pecked his head bloody fast. Today I made them stand in opposite horse stalls and then I let them out and refereed them as they tried to attack. I just would block the pecks. He bossed her around today enough she jumped on my shoulder. They were almost civil by afternoon but I don't trust them alone overnight just yet.

Ah, I see. He is a pretty fella!
