it smelled very bad when I got rid of it. I put it in a zip lock and went outside and broke it. I did not see a chick but just blackness.Im sorryDoes is smell? There ont be a blood ring unless the embyo died very early in incubation.
I gave up on trying to incubate my hens last fertile eggs. I think I did finally reach the point where they were no longer fertile. I DID though get a grown rooster. He is so pretty! A white Silkie with black spots. He is so gentle that my hen was being to abusive to him. He is camping in the bathroom as I slowly get the two of them to fall in love without one of them loosing an eye in the process. I named him George...cause I want to kiss him and hug him and squeeze him.
Yesterday was their first day of meeting and she pecked his head bloody fast. Today I made them stand in opposite horse stalls and then I let them out and refereed them as they tried to attack. I just would block the pecks. He bossed her around today enough she jumped on my shoulder. They were almost civil by afternoon but I don't trust them alone overnight just yet.I have a "George" too, for the same reason.
My opinion, let him stand up to the girls. They will keep doing it, and the longer you baby him, the longer it will take for them to accept him.
