Hi there I am not new to the chicken world but this is my 1st time having a duck hatch. I have a goose who decided to become a brooding goose. she is currently sitting on about 8 eggs and one finally hatched. These are from my ducks. What do I need to provide her? I am already in the process of separating her from the adult ducks.

Give her and ducklings a safe place away from the others like you’ve done but where everyone can see each other. Put out feed and water close by you can give mama a bucket sat up a little higher and ducklings can start off with a chick waterer for first week then you’ll want to go with something like this. Precious picture.

Thats so sweet, She must think its a dwarf :gig

@Miss Lydia has both geese and ducks, and alot of other members do too, Hopefully someone can help!

Great!!! Thank you!! For the information!

That doesn’t matter geese are just so in love with babies my gander was papa goose to many Muscovy ducklings until I brought home a female goose for him. It’s such a precious memory. So she’ll take excellent care of her babies. Just want to make sure she stays calm because as big as she is and as tiny as they are if she was to trample them it wouldn’t be good. That’s why keeping the other birds close but where they can’t get to her is important. Do you think your Mallard drake could breed you female Pekin?
