Man do they POOP!!!!

I have only had these for 2 days now (just hatched) and they are as bad at pooping as cornish cross rocks! I didn't know they pooped this much(lol)

We have 2 brooder boxes of Button Quail chicks and what I find amazing is most all of them use one corner of the box to poop..... It's like this is the potty corner... Everyone use this corner.....

people say this a lot i notice on here, but I dont see them really pooping any more than chicken chicks or chickens do. At two weeks I put my quail chicks in grow out pens near the adults, I also have some chickens in these pens (as they are too small yet to free range and too big to be in the brooder) and to be honest the chickens are the ones that have a ton of nasty smelly crap under their pens lol. IMO they poo pretty much the same as chickens lol. Like every five minutes lol

yeah, they do.........but I have to agree, the amount of clean up/change puppy pads with any of the baby bird.......

ours poop around their waterer, I changed them yesterday and this morning I had to change again. there was an inch of poop around the waterer but at least for now they dont smell as bad as the cornish x's although they were pretty ripe.

Not only do they poop alot, if you live in New England it has been raining SO hard and it has been so cold......... Things are nasty.

Let's just say that my laundry room where the brooders are right now doesn't smell like a laundry room even if it was loaded with dirty clothes.

But the sun is out and so are ALL the birds.
