Looks like a still young specimen to me.

Often it is best to antagonize the wild animal so it will remember this place as where it made a very awkward experience and will avoid it in the future.

Not everything will be solved by killing them, as soon the next one will come along to inhabit the then free territory.

It sounds like he relocated the animal pretty far away though, so no doubt a new one will be by soon since the territory is open.
