Were you trying for that? I have found that our local hatchery (which only sells straight run) sells to the feed stores whenthe chicks are 1 to 2 weeks old and they are making room for more recent hatches. Sooo . . . if you go to the feed store and know the breed, look at the combs feathers and legs you have a good chance at picking out the roos and then can take your selection from the rest. I got seven out of seven girls last time I did this.
