Managing humidity issues

Hi! I am a newbie to hatching, this is the first attempt. I bought a Magic Fly automatic incubator for my kids. The temperature is doing fine and remaining consistent however the humidity is really tough to manage. The incubator isn't large enough with the turning try in it to leave a gauge in there so I just put it in a few times a day and leave it for 30 minutes or so each time to try to tell about what it's at and it ranges anywhere from 40-80%. It doesn't seem like removing water has done anything really. It was at 88% and I removed some water and it dropped to 46% then this morning without adding any more water or anything it is at 78%. Help?! This is day 3 of the eggs being in the incubator with this fluctuating humidity. The manufacture says to put 100ml in the bottom of the incubator and add water every 2 days but that much water puts the humidity up in the 80's for sure. Our humidity in the house right now has been around 44-46% just because of our recent weather so I'm not sure if that is factoring in as well. Thanks for any help! My kids are really hoping to actually have at least a couple of these 12 eggs hatch, hopefully more :)

If your humidity is that high in your house already, I would just put no water in the incubator at all until lockdown.

I had thought of that and was hoping that might be ok to do...I might try that and see how it goes! Thanks
