The second pic has a Masked Lapwing in it :)

Congrats Lisa!!! They are cute buggas. I had babies off my regular hen well over a month ago. But I looked in a box yersterday and danged if I dont have the same hen with 6 eggs in a box so far. Never had that happen before after that long of a time span, Even when I double clutched. Dont know how she pulled that off. I only have the one reg girl so there is no doubt shes the mom Just wanted to share that with everyone. Plain weird to me though.

Wish I could hatch some! No luck with shipped eggs though....they make it to pip and die. I'm going to just have to buy a pair. I wanted ducklings so they wouldn't be so flighty. I'm jealous!:)

what is the aviary size for 1 breeder pair ?? I want to plan ahead ^.^ I'm getting mine from mallardlanefarms and Try to get the stuff which i need for the aviary. I research about waterfowl and pretty new to rasing wild waterfowl. Is there any breeder please contract me or post here LOL

5 are out now and the 6th is working on zipping....7 and 8 are slower, but did pip later too. I just set up a 2nd brooder box since my first batch is now 3 weeks old and they look like GIANTS compared to these new babies! I hope my Aussies hatch some babies soon, I'd put one of them in the brooder with these to help show them how to eat for a day or two. I'm so happy they are hatching...Thank you Aubrey for all the help and advice! You saved the day!
what do you feed them when they are 2-3 days old.? i got some of the exotic waterfowl starter food

That sounds fine- i use Flock Raiser starter crumbles, Dumor chick starter crumbles (No Mazuri here at our TSC) and add live Mealie worms. They love those! Mine this year were hatched by their mom and are out in the pen with the adults- so I just add a chick feeder of crumbles everyday and hope she's teaching them to eat! I give a chick waterer also...They're about 5 days old now, so they must be getting something to eat. I just don't get to see it- every time I get near the pen, she herds them to the other end of it...and hides behind something with them.

I'm glad she's being a protective mom, but I'm mom to her, so it would be great if she let ME see them more...
Good Luck!
Lisa
