mandarin ducklings feeding

I have always been told that mandarin ducklings when separated from mom are hard to teach how to eat, is that true? I wanted to separate some of the duckling so they will get use to me and I can show them. I know it is very difficult to show mandarins though if I work with them long enough as ducklings it wont be as bad. And are mandarins really loud, and do they mind noise?

Have you posted over on the ornamental forum? I know nothing about Mandarins except they are pretty.
