Hello! I have 5 mandarins 2 males and 3 females at least thats what I was told. I do think one of the ducklings is a male though, but I am not able to find photos of mandarin ducklings to help me? I am new to these ducks so I'd love some help with my new crew! I was told that the 2 adults are maybe 5 and the 3 babies 6 months but the younger male seems much older then the 2 ducklings! Help any advice would be wonderful!

I would say the one with the stripe on its head is a male. That is how my males start to molt.

They don't stay ducklings for long!

The red bill, and yellow legs are the "tell" that it's a male.

Although it's tough to tell when they are very young.

By now, they should really be starting to feather out and you can tell the difference.

Let us know if you still have questions!

It's a boy! I just needed to wait a week! Thanks all! Now I have to worry about 3 boys and 2 girls! Should I get a few more girls?

Great thank you! Hope I can find one? Any recommendations I'm in Northern VA just outside of DC.
