Mandarin/Wood Duck Aviary Requirements

How high are your roosts? I thought with clipped wings they could still jump & flap and get up on things...

A bit less than 4 feet there is a branch a foot up they use occasionally along with the Cinnamon teal. The Green wing teal go on top of the coop a lot. I had to lower the nest box because the hen wore some wing tip feathers down and was not able to fly high enough after the first week of checking it out. Now she comes in and out twice a day to eat. I only clip one wing it throws them off balance so they can't fly although the cinnamon was able to fly 8 feet high no problem. When I let them out of the coop in the morning they fly all around me it's pretty cool to see, hear, and feel.
 
My wood ducks have never ever perched although they say they do. The mandarins do the wood ducks do not
