Mangy Fox/ Chupacabra

Honestly, because I believe that everyone should have the means to protect theirs and their own, you need to get a gun.

BUT, first you need to learn about guns. You need to find a friend, ask them to teach you.

Start off with a 20 guage or a 410. Shot guns, wide pattern, no kick.

take a lesson this weekend. Seriously. Wounding an animal is not fair to it, or you. As a first time 'hunter' you will have enough guilt as it is. Nothing that isnt normal, even for seasoned hunters/ farmers/ranchers, BUT you need to do it right.

You do need to kill it. Quite possibly you need to do a live trap on this one. Seriously, then call out the game warden. Ask them to dispose of it. Tell them that you are learning to use a gun, but are not good enough yet. They will understand and respect you for it.

I dont know where you live, but in Texas, there is no waiting period on a long gun, nor is their a licence. You go, you get some paperwork filled out, (its destroyed later) then you get checked for being crazy or a felon, then you go home with a gun. 2 hours max.

You can inquire where you purchase it if there is a range for you to practice at. IF NOT, you need to learn how to load it, unload it, what shells/bullets go in it, and how to use it. IF there isnt, ask your local police dept. or sherriff dept if they will show you how to load and unload your gun. "protect and serve" right??

Plus it might be best to do that, shooting ranges cost money, --

Get a hay bale, and a target, and start to practice. Depending on yoru size, you might want a youth model. I am 5'2" 120 pounds and I shoot a youth model shot gun. It shoots just as good, it just has a shorter barrell and a lighter stock.
That helps when you are shooting free hand.

GOod Luck, and I am sorry you got a chupacabra.
