Combs are changing color as they mature.
If you are concerned about the dryness, then use Vaseline/plain petroleum jelly. I've found that the tissue seems to peel when using coconut oil, not sure why, but any birds that I have applied coconut oil to wattles/combs ended up with peeling skin.
