Maran chicks for $5.00 is this a good price?

Some one has chicks about 20 minutes away from me. I have never had these kind but have been covertly looking at them on the forum. Is that a good price or is that high? Any opinions would be appreciated.

if its cuckoo marans (spell) then yeah that is about right but if they are any other marans that in my opinion is a steal.

That seems reasonable to me for Marans. I paid $3 for Rhode Island Red chicks recently in my area, but they don't lay those beautiful dark eggs like the Marans do!

You might check some hatchery prices on Marans?

if they are a lighter egg laying Maran, then yes. if they are BCM then it is a steal.

make sure you see the eggs laid by the parents of the chicks you are buying.

Thanks for the input. Here is the link to the craigslist ad. Tell me what you think if you will. Cuckoo and Black Coppers are the ones she/he is talking about.

I personally either way thank its a great deal! The black copper she does say is crossed with a cuckoo which when crossing black copper and another marans breed will cause the offsprings egg color to be lighter. However if I were you I would just on it!
