So I always just assumed all FBCM eggs had a sheen and that the darkest ones looked more brown. Well my darkest layer lays reddish with a matt finish. Too bad I don't know who the breeder is because I bought 2 batches of chicks from 2 different breeders at the same time.

That’s a real beautiful looking egg!

1. You could buy from both breeders again .This time leg band them so you can identify the flock members and keep written records.
2. You could identify the pullet and start breeding her if you have a rooster.
I definitely think you should pursue a Marans egg color like that.

Dayum, that dark one is gorgeous!!
Figure out who is laying that one and and band her.
How old are these birds....and how long have they been laying??

Also....
