Maran egg color breed dependent?

We wanted to get 3 Maran chicks for their dark brown eggs.

Will they truly be that dark beautiful brown or does it depend on source and breed?
Farm store choices are Midnight Majesty Maran and FBCM.

Some hybrids sold by hatcheriess carry the Marans name but not the egg color. I'm not sure if the midnight...might be one of them. Also even pure breeds have a better chance of chocolate eggs from a reputable breeder than a hatchery.
