Maran, Hens or Cocks

hi, we hatched these about 9 weeks ago, i have a feeling they are cocks, but are our first chicks so not sure. anyone know for sure?

They both look like pullets to me. They don't have anything red on the face, and dark coloring. @Chicken Girl1 what makes you think cockerel?

I am far from an expert, and it's hard to see due to their pretty colors, but I'm gonna say pullets. I don't see any pointy hackle feathers.

I'll say pullets. Did both parents have the same pattern feathers? If so, I don't believe cockerels would be that dark. I'll admit there's plenty I don't know about it, but that's my best guess.

The combs looked redder to me then is normal for a pullet. The pictures looked washed out so I assumed the comb was even more red then it looks in the picture. I definitely could be wrong. @kevin sheridan could you get a better picture?

The wattles are pretty red for an 8 week old chicken.

I don't feel comfortable saying pullet for sure, but the feather pattern is more pullet like then cockerel. The combs aren't screaming cockerel, but again the color it is keeps me from saying definite pullet. I hope you'll update us as they grow, hopefully I'm wrong .

9 weeks of age, is too young to show gender feathering at hackles & saddle. I'm comfortable sexing Barred rocks but, not familiar with Marans. I thought Marans had feathered feet and darker legs
