I vote roo and definatly mix.
Maybe a dominique/FBCM mix?
That would give the barring and pea comb from the Dom and the copper leakage and feathered shanks from the FBCM.

That young rooster is a barn yard mix..
It could have some Brahma in it that would give you the feathered shanks (legs) and the pea comb...
