Maran?? Or...?

Hi! I have 4 recently hatched that I'm hoping are marans but the could be australorp I guess. Need some help IDing. They all look exactly like this one. Thanks!!

That makes more sense due to egg color, but in was really hoping the maran hens had just lost some of their egg coloring abilities lol. Thanks!

Those look like Australorp to me as well... Leg color is too dark for Marans... Always said with the S at the end whether singular or plural, after the French town they hail from.

Where did the eggs come from? Do the Marans have feathered legs?

Either way... after breeding and hatching Marans for a few years... that definitely isn't one.

Are you sure they are pure? Australorp chicks typically have a white chest and belly.

No, mixed breed was possible in this hatching group I bought. Is it possible since they are only about 48 hrs old, that they will develop more white?

No, they would hatch with the white chests.
