Maran or ?

Supposed to be a Maran but no feathered feet had me questioning. I know some don’t have feathered feet. Also looks like a Barnevelder. Any opinions? Sorry for the poor pic.

He does look a lot like a barnevelder rooster. I don't think he is a Marans since the black coppers have more golden than red hackles.

Doesn’t look like a maran to me. Perhaps a Barney.

Maybe a hatchery type Marans or Marans crossed with something else. He is not a Barnevelder-- wrong plumage color, wrong leg color.

Marans don’t always have feathered feet, depending on which type you have, but the colouring of this guy is wrong along with many of the body proportions (Marans have long backs, low angle tails, chunky bodies - the opposite of what you see here). I don’t even think he is a hatchery type Marans - either some sort of cross, or likely another breed or mix.
