The pip from last night hatched! I was worried this morning when nothing happened but the chick just popped out.

Also, my only OE has pipped now!

Thanks! My bc olive egger hatched yesterday.

This hatch turned out to be a rough one. 5 out of 8 marans quit around days 7-10, and only 1 bc olive made it to lockdown. The other 2 marans haven’t hatched yet. So a grand total of 2/13 hatched haha.

I’m going to give it till tomorrow morning, and reload the incubator with a mix of BC olives and f1 olives from my Ameracaunas.

Thanks for asking! I’ve been terrible at updating it. There’s actually been a decent amount going on with it.

- The two that I hatched from the incubator both turned out to be pullets! So from that, I have one dark egg pullet and one BCOE from my over melanised rooster Ferdinand.

- I had a broody noir marans hatch out
2 more BCOEs from Ferdinand. Still waiting to tell what sex. They’re about 4 weeks now.

- The other cockerel Hei Hei isn’t doing so well. We had a bad case of mites about a month ago and he’s been the only one not to make a full recovery. At this point I don’t plan on breeding him unless he really bounces back. I quarantined him for 2 weeks or so just to be safe.

- Both cockerels from the Craigslist birds have shown yellow shanks like I posted in the SOP thread. The pullets from this group seem promising though!

These are my two favorite girls from the Craigslist birds. I’m hoping to atleast get eggs in the 4 range from them.

I’ll post some better photos next week of the whole group.
