Marans coloring

I just got these birds from a friend. She said they are Marans, but I have been unable to identify the hen's coloring... she looks part wheaten and part something else! The rooster is definitely a blue wheaten. Here are some pics:









Any thoughts? Comments?

Hi,
I think she is a splash Black-Tailed Buff. Wheaten can sire Black-Tailed Buff. That blue gene bred to the right mate can sire splash. I think you ended up with both.
