Marans Egg Laying

I also have 3 French Black/Copper Marans and 4 Welsummer's. They all just hit 22 weeks and one of my Marans is laying everyday, and one Welsummer has just started laying as well. I think from my own research most of the Marans start laying around 25+ weeks sometimes longer. Good luck w/ your babies!

My first Marans layed at 17 weeks. The new kids on the block are 17 weeks. They are not showing any signs of laying. I guess my first one made me hopeful.

I love mine too besides the broodiness. She lays pretty brown eggs.

My Black Copper Marans started laying at about 7 months, & lays an egg every 1-3 weeks. Not great layers, but I'm not into high Production birds anyways.

I got my first egg today. I'm not sure who it came from. It's next to my Black Marans egg for comparison. 20 weeks old this week.
