Marans question

She actually looks a lot like my Blue Copper Marans roo. He is so light blue, he almost perfectly matches my Lavendar Ameraucanas. Blue is just diluted black, and can look anything from pale silvery gray to dark graphite gray, even within the same hatch. It can take Marans a long time to get their full coloring, and some have very few copper feathers. Eventually she may sprout some copper feathers around her head, or she may not. I have a Blue Copper hen who is well over a year old, and she just got her first 2 copper feathers this summer.

She's a beautiful pullet. It'll be exciting to see how her coloring changes as she matures.

Whew!! Thank you! I really like her, and I was really hoping to keep her in my Blue Copper flock. I have limited pens, three breeds, and I was really worried about where to put her if she wasn't a Blue Copper! Thank you for easing my fears!

You're welcome
