Marans Thread for Posting Pics of Your Eggs, Chicks and Chickens

Any advice, please? Any Keepers?
These birds are from a Standard Blue Copper Roo over Black and Blue Hens, which has resulted in solids with faint color and Standards with not enough color.
As I drove 7 hours and paid $15.00 a chick(sold as Bl and Blk CM) I am hoping to salvage something with the one pullet and one of the Copper Blue cockerels
I would like to concentrate on the Blue Variety. Thank you in advance.

The pullet

The nice feathered basically coppered blue cockerel

The really odd blue/black cockerel(dark splash??? chick was dk blue, not the yellow a splash is)

Closest to CB Cockerel

Basically Black Clean Legged Cockerel

I got my first dark egg saturday!
I have pullets that are 6 1/2 months old and have gotten two now.
I wish my camera wasn't broken. I think they were laid by 2 different hens but I can't be sure.
One has alot more freckles than the other but that probably doesn't mean anything.
To be honest I have so much going on lately that I wasn't really waiting on pins and needles waiting for them to lay so when they did I was shocked.
It took me a second to register when I found that first dark egg in the nest box.
They are small but they aren't those tiny pullet eggs you get sometimes.
I am going to try and get some pictures somehow when things settle down a bit, hopefully they will later in the week.
I have had 2 of my kids in the hospital this week and I am a little overwhelmed with things to catch up on, I'll see what I can do in a couple of days.

I got my Marans card from the Yahoo group ya'll mentioned the recent dramatic events in...I still havent had time to visit so I know nothing, but I ordered from there. If I can make a decent color copy - I could try, otherwise - the French Marans site has them too! Good luck there...I'll try to copy it though - if it's legal, I'll see if it has a copyright when I get home.

I have the Blue/Green egg color chart, I got it from the Ameraucana Site - I am a member of the Ameraucana Breeders Club -
It is called an Eggshell Reference Chart - 1 for $3.00 or 2 for $5.00 The Bulletin says to make checks payable to Ameraucana Breeders of Club and send to the Club Secretary (Michael Muenks 33878 Highway 87, California, Missouri, 65018-3911)

Anyone know of any BCM breeders who would be willing to ship to Texas? I could buy hatching eggs, but I am considering just buying pullets....
