Hey Cottage Garden

I would keep the blue cock and the black hen. I would rehome the rest. The US proposed standards calls for feather shanks. So that is my criteria. Your cockerel looks like he'll have good color. So does the pullet. They would be a nice pair.

That "splash" is interesting.....

Simple Life, CONGRATS!

Thanks for the kind thoughts, it has been crazy this week. Two kids with completely unrelated issues in the hospital.
I slept there with my son and as soon as we got home and settled in for some rest my daughter needed to go to the hospital and I stayed there with her.
While she was being treated in the emergency room I see my sister wheeled in, she is having heart problems.
I was going back and forth checking on her until her family could get there and then back to my daughter.
She is still in there. They have to get her heart problems sorted out before she can go home.
I'll go up there again tomorrow to see her.
I just got home again today so I am wiped.
I am glad to know that the freckles do mean something, it would be nice if they got even darker.
I was surprised they were as dark as they are already for their first.
As soon as I get a camera I will take some pictures and get your thoughts.
Thanks again

Monarch23-your Marans are going to be lovely. NP has done alot of work on hers, and while I havent seen the Funny Farm adult birds yet she is breeding to the standard and the egg color blows you away. She just seems like a very neat person & I look forward to seeing your babies grow.
As she is 20-30min away I will have to go see her soon. I am planning on buying some pullets to go with the extra guys to find them new homes.
Her birds are Wade Jeane line from Whitmore Farm, Bev Davis, Suzanne Osio, Presley...maybe a few more.. and she has been actively improving on them. The breeder I got mine from, peachick, also got hers from Whitmore

He is really interesteing. I HATE getting rid of my roos, in general. I completely understand. I sobbed a few mondays ago packing up 15 of them to send to auction. But most of them sold for pretty good money (between 5 and 13 bucks a piece) so I knew they went to homes that weren't eating them.

Oh Simple Life, I did not see that your kids were in the hospital!!!!!
