Wull yesterday was Day 18 for the 36 Cuckoo Marans eggs...

Candling showed no more quitters and one of the previous suspects has been upgraded to a "maybe".

Average weight loss amongst the 36 is 10.3%. I was hoping for 12%, but this'll do.

I prolly won't do more than 24 eggs at a time in this 'bator again. It's just too crowded.

I set my wheatens next Friday. I think I will try that egg carton thing.

I just unpluged my turner last time but the chicks kept falling in the holes.. I hatched bearded silkies last time...

Ive been looking for some BCM chicks and havent really had any luck. Either not the age Im looking for(6 weeks) or too much(within my price range) for the shipping. I think Im going to save my money and buy some next spring. Who do you think has the best and darkest black copper marans eggs? Im not looking to show my birds, but I do want super dark eggs.
