Thanks very much for visiting BYC. I hope you continue to post more details about the history of Marans in the US. IMHO it's very important for us to educate ourselves about the facts of the past, so that we can learn from them. You know the old saying, "those who forget history are condemned to repeat it". I just hatched some French Black Copper Marans. I noticed that a couple of them have all black on the face, while the others have the small amount of white on the face. What does this mean, anything?

Kathyinmo,,,so your a mother hen now?? Congrats!! Black color and white color is mixed on all the chicks,,FBC's follow no set pattern,,so,what hatch rate percentage did you get??
