Resolution~

I apologize, I do not follow......you have never seen a Splash Marans with the copper in reference to the pattern?

I have not seen this either. Out of many Copper Splash Marans roos that I have hatched and grown out, this is the first one that has taken on a pattern "so to speak" with the copper. Usually, they have all had flecks of copper throughout their body. In fact, his coloring is what saved him from the freezer. Until recently with in the last 3 months I had not been very fond of him, as he has feathered out more he has grown on me. I know he can still change as he is young and that is what intrigues me.

Here is a front view of him.

and not the best photo, but here he is with his brother.

Here is a photo of the father of these boys.

and for fun....the Splash rooster hatched from one of these eggs, undoubtedly one of the lighter eggs......I was too tired to stay up that night and mark the chicks as they hatched.....my bad.

what wonderful information on how to increase egg color and they say to
Start with a female line that you know absolutely are full sisters. Save one or two of their full brothers.
Locate an unrelated rooster that you have personally hatched from a dark egg.
Pair this rooster with the first female from your well represented female line.
Select out the darkest eggs from her first clutch.
Hatch them. Select the rooster from this clutch that has hatched from the darkest egg.
Breed him back to his mother.
Repeat the process again and again for 8 consecutive generations.
Well I thought I was told to keep the rooster that I hatched from a dark egg and breed back to him his daughters that came from dark egg ….
Can someone clarify .
the nice person went to a lot of trouble to post so much information and they (who ever they are )
Seem to know a great deal ….
Any thoughts on this ?

Hello Sue,
To insert an image in to your post you will need to upload the image to the site; you have about 2.5MB of free storage for your pictures
Left click on Upload in the bar above. This will open a second window
You will have an option on this page to browse your files and upload one of your pictures
After it uploads, go back to the Uploads tab and left click on My Uploads in the far lower right corner of the page
This will take you to a page with your uploaded pictures
To select the picture you would like to insert in your post, highlight the address listed in the "Image" box, right click and copy the address
Go to your post in progress and insert the Image address with a right click and paste

This should insert your image in to your post.

Thanks!

Sue

What would a blue ribbon FBCM roo look like? Is there a chance my roo will change once he gets older and/or when he molts?
Thanks

Just a little correction... The picture shown when you click on the url link is NOT the one I intended from the french site... Some how the computer defaulted to it... IDK why... Computers illude me completely... Still a good picture, although not the intended one.
