That one is the one she said is throwing too much dark brown on his head. They are all supposed to be BCmarans but that one is a lot darker than the others. Is it not pure then? Well here's some eggs (and I believe my first post in this thread) These are in my incubator right now, but the 15 are Wheaten/Blue Wheaten and the 12 are Black Coppers, all straight Bev Davis lines. I'm sooo impressed for the fact that my wheaten/blue wheaten eggs are just as dark.

Also, I have 4 BC Marans chicks from Bev x Jeanne lines. Only have photos of 3 of them here though:

Can't wait until everyone grows up!!

No, actually the one middle (in that picture) looks very light to me. I can't really tell, you will have to take some more pictures as they grow.

My birds are also from Wade Jeane/Ron Presley lines and those birds lay very nice eggs.

I like those odds, but the shipping is what kills it because I'm assuming at 25% hatch rate for shipped eggs, that's why I want 2 dozen.

I am collecting eggs for the remainder of the week from my Copper Black gals (and a few select eggs from my Splash gal) that have been crossed with my Splash and Copper Blue boys.........hoping for as many Copper Blues and Splashes as I can get out of this hatch as they will hopefully be the building blocks to a new and another flock for next year.

. They told me tomorrow for sure. So, I will get it set up and calibrated and running as soon as I can and will give you heads -up so we can tandem-hatch!!!! I want to see pictures of these splash and BC eggs you will be setting.
