I have to say it was a little anti-climatic setting it up. I pulled it out of the box, plugged it in, added some water and set the temp/humidity.

Ahahahha. This thing is completely idiot-proof.

The humidity in the room was 58%, but when I closed the lid it only took about 5 minutes for it to get to the 35% I set it for.
Only thing, is I should have bought the standard egg tray, this universal one is only going to fit about 19 of my eggs.
I am going to let it run tonight and then load the eggies in the morning.

One other thing..... is that I didn't calibrate it. I initialized it and the then set the temp/humidity. I don't have a really accurate thermometer/hygrometer so I can't. I am hoping that won't be a problem. Also, the factory setting for humidity is 45% but everyone is saying the humidity should be lower for hens eggs.


Berkeley spgs, what humidity setting do you have running in the Suro?

i am running 43 on humidity and calabrate part is dun better in the factory then we can in the feild , your right about the incubator being no fun because we just set it and forget it ...

Okay so we are setting eggs today then?????

I was hoping to have had 2 dozen plus to sort through but nope the girls didn't think so, I only have 20.
The girls didn't give up any eggs yesterday... stingy buggers and the day before I dropped 2 VERY NICE eggs....of course the dog loved every bit of that accident. Now he is waits for me at the door of every coop when I come out and gives me the "C'mon lady....drop one....just one....please" look.
I can always toss in the eggs from today.
