I can finally join this thread!!!!
I hatched 7 BCM from onthemspot and two of them are blue

There are two more that have made a dime size hole in their shell and it has been way over 24 hours (more like 36 to 48) since they started. Should I help? They keep poking their beaks out a peeping but no progress.

If the hole is the size of a dime they probably need help.

Generally they are stuck, and cannot rotate to zip, so they keep pecking at the spot.

Go slow to make sure no blood vessels remain.

Yeah, time to help. Hopefully you can coax them out and they will do okay. You are more patient than I am, but then I have caused the demise of many a chick be too much help too early.

Congrats on the hatch! And for getting blue! I just put a few in the bator this week to see if I could get some nice blue and/or splash hens. I'm thinking I would like better blue representation in there. I am always looking for the perfect rooster prospect too. Here's crossing our fingers for quality!

i think i have to cull my flock of wheaten marans .... i hatched some of my own eggs and out of seven chicks i gotonly one hen so i guess that npip dont got any shots or meds to cure dat !!!!
