Marans Thread for Posting Pics of Your Eggs, Chicks and Chickens

I figure the only thing that didn't fall out of the sky onto our chickens was pitchforks and babies.. I don't know what it did for you an hour north but at my house it hailed, lightninged... If that's a word and came down in buckets for days. I can literally float in a boat in my pasture...

Taken 5 days ago or so.

My easter submission... I will get a few muddy pix today.... Poor easter bunny will feel "ripped off" The girls go on strike under this kind of stress

okay here is today submission... little stressed I think... This is second egg I have gotten from the same hen that is this size over the last two days... If I wasn't trying to hatch next years hens then this would be a great EGGZILLA find... But you asked... this is what was in my eggs basket so far...One very dirty egg from the breakfast pen (fell out of box) and then so far two eggies... One is an Omelette by itself.

My first Maran egg ever. and it is from ideal.

I think she did a great job for coming from a hatchery and it being her first....

these eggs most certainly Do qualify as Marans eggs !!! they are as good and somewhat better than some i'm seeing touted as BC Maran eggs !!!!(lol)
just because they don't have a big name slapped on them , but a hatchery name is no reason to trash something you apparently know little about !!! Do you know who Ideal(hatchery) got their Marans from ?? nonother than one of the Number 1 egg color Barred Marans breeders in the USA .
