Question here. For my marans I have my BC roo, a cuckoo hen and a couple of pullets from this cross (they look like BC pullets) Anywho I just hatched some of the same cross and then some from the roo back on his daughters. I thought at hatch I had "twin" roos - my husband kind of dumped all the chicks together before I could tag anyone. Both these guys were marked for barring but as they grew out one is definately barred and a carbon copy of his mama. The other one has barring here and there but is BLUE and has some solid colored spots and one red feather on his shoulder.
Is he maybe the son of one of the BC X (BC X Cuckoo) pullets and his barring is just "diluted"? What would make him blue?
I will go get pictures of them and add them later tonight.
Hey Lolita, where did you get your roos? I might would be interested in one as one of my fine boys is getting kind of testy with people and thats a big no no at my place.
