I don't know how much my Bill weighs but I know he's probably tipping the scales at around 14lbs or more. He is a monster! My Blue Copper Roo is almost just as big but several months younger.
One of Bills sons is 4 months old and the same size as my 10 mos old Splash Copper roo. I'd be scared to meet these boys in a dark alley!

Okay, NOW it makes sense. . . 14 pounds.

Wow. I can't wait until my boys reach that.

I remember the average weight being somewhere above 10 pounds, I just couldn't imagine it being 14. . .

The French standard says: 3.5k to 4k, so that is 7.7 lbs to 8.8 lbs.

Curious, anyone here know exactly how much their Marans roosters weigh? . . . Because I always (gasp, also talking non-Marans) thought Ameraucanas and Easter Egger roosters should weigh 5-6.5 pounds. Well, I know for one that the last and only Marans rooster I saw in my life must have been 2-3 times bigger and heavier than my EE, which sounds reasonable. . . But I weighed my EE a couple days ago, and. . . He's 10 pounds! - Now, how is it that I have a 10 pound Easter Egger?

I really was expecting that my own Black Copper and Blue Wheaten boys would tower over him, but . . . Aren't Marans supposed to max at ooh 11-12 pounds?

Okay.. that is some BA brand birds ya' all got... I haven't wieghed mine.... He won't step on the scale.. He says he isn't fat just fluffy... I will get a wieght later.. I know for a fact that my Wade pen birds are MUCH smaller that the Bev birds... Probably around 8 or 9 pounds really... My hens from the davis line outwiegh my rooster.

According to the SOP for marans they are to be around the same size as Rhode Island reds SOP... If that helps give an idea... You gals have some Jinormungus birds.

Look at what Dave did yesterday!

This is my very first broody hatch. Dave lost her sister last summer and the 2nd generation pullets never really accepted her. She was a bit of an outcast in the flock. Now she will have her own little tribe. She looks so happy

Okay here's my oldest Black Copper boy, Maple. He's 2 months old, and guess what? He's 5 pounds!! He's as big as my LF Polish and probably weighs more than them.
