Geebs,
Keep the one with the orange-y copper coloring? I culled the hens with really gold hackles. All the rest have decent hackles. I don't think I have any hens that are too dark.

what you keep depends on what you have and what you want to produce. w/o knowing what you have I have no idea what you need....It is all about balancing the colors.

See, that surprises me, because I would keep the other one. I like the deep dark copper, and no light straw color.

Okay, well I know the different roos can help "fix" the faults of the hens in the offspring. Just trying to decide who's a better looking boy and welcoming opinions.

straw is just what is says.... Straw color...not copper...totally different.

So, they are both considered "copper." They're the best two I have. Had planned to keep them both, but hubby says we need to downsize...So hard to choose!

The thing is, there are more things to consider. So you have a picture of them standing upright? What is the tail set angle? How about the eye color? Even the comb ... how is that? How is the coloring on the breast? Ya know what I mean?

I agree, it is hard to make choices like this. I like what geebs says, it is always good to have a spare (just in case!)...
