My BCM eggs have been incubating for 5 days now so I decided to candle them. I can't see squat! Normally I can see veins at 3 or 4 days. How soon is it possible to candle Marans eggs?

I bought the high intensity brinsea light and it worked really well with my bcm eggs.

Debbi~ WOW! Great questions, but I have no clue. I do believe that both groups are working toward the same goal. Hope someone that is versed in that comes along and shares their insight or opinions.

They're just different clubs. Marans Chicken Club USA is the one that wrote the proposed standard, and to my knowledge, they are the ones really pushing hard to get it accepted. I'm told that someone from the other club was trying to get acceptance posponed, but I'm unsure if this is true, or why. I think it's just basically two different folks who both started online clubs. Nothing sneaky going on in either one. JMO.

I don't think the APA much cares who wrote the standard. It's already been submitted and that part has been accepted (the written standard). I do think both clubs have something to offer!
