yes i did it so the broody hen would have more room than just one nest box when she is with day old chicks , if you like i can take close up pics or give sizes box i use .... i am a carpenter ,and i get loads of free building material all the time ..... its a crime what they throw in the trash so i toss it in my truck .... i wish i had time to do nice work on my own chicken coop but i just throw it together ... its more about the use of the structure not the looks when it comes to my stuff..... when i am at work it is all qulity work ...take care and let me know if i u need any more info

Thanks Berk! My hubby and I are also in construction and remodeling and I hear ya about what gets tossed and what can be reused, if it is smaller than 12" its tossed anything bigger than that goes in the truck and to my project pile. People look at me like I'm crazy when I say I'll take the scraps. Thanks again and be well.

Help! I received 27 chicks from Bev Davis in March. Half are roosters. All are full grown and crowing. I need to get rid of some of them. These are some of the last chicks Bev sold before turning her operation over to Greenfire. The pullets just started laying and the eggs are very dark. BCM and Blue Coppers roosters, email me if interested. I'm near Sacramento, Calif. Pick-up here only.

I actually have been putting one hen from my Marans girls in a tractor every day or so until they lay. That way I can cull out the ones who aren't laying dark enough for me.

I am going to make myself some smaller broody pens. Thank you for that great idea!
