OK, here is the egg with two new araucana pullets and one older hen who is still laying.
I know which older hen is laying and of course saw the marans egg deposited. The marans pullet has eight sisters, I believe they are hatchery birds. These are smooth legged girls. I'll keep an eye on her egg color, my question for the eggsperts is, does she qualify as a marans?
One of the newly laying araucana pullets sure has a blue egg. I can't wait to see which one it is. I have not caught her in the nest yet. One lays a very pretty olive egg.
