Off the current subject ... but its almost time ... (insert evil giggling here) -- they are due in 3, count 'em, 3 days ....

Well, some of them anyways .. the others are due on the 2nd

Today is day 21 on my seven marans eggs

. I had 6 RIR eggs hatch yesterday and there are 2 left from the 8 I set

Does anyone have any information about Silver Splash Marans? I would love to see pictures. I have just been told of this color and would like to learn more.

Another stupid question ... I've searched and searched and wondered. I've got gorgeous (well I hope) golden cuckoo marans and regular cuckoo marans in the bator. Is this considered a cross if I let them breed and will these be considered "pure"? I wasn't sure of the genetics on these. I've done lots of reading but all I've seen is about cuckoo marans. Wasn't sure so I thought I'd ask the "eggsperts" ...

I have two, count 'em, TWO CBM eggs right now, on on the kitchen counter, one in an egg carton from yesterday. Hardly worth shipping I'd say.

I have seen several flocks in which they were mixed. Golden Cuckoo is the same as Copper Black, but in cuckoo pattern. In the non-cuckoo birds it seems to be taboo, but in the cuckoo, lots of people do it and just whatever you get, you get. Don't ask me what the difference is, There is none. If you want more Golden Cuckoos, I'd go ahead and cross your birds if you want to. You may see a drop in egg color due to crossing lines. Might be betterfastercheaper to just go on ebay and buy some golden cuckoo eggs and go from there.... Not much help, I know, just my half a cent worth.

I've got wheaten eggs hatching right now, and I CAN'T STAND IT!!

One pipped yesterday and hatched over night, but the others have just started pipping this afternoon. This is day 22.

I was just wondering because I've done tons of reading and there is little out there about gcms. Everyone chat about the bcms....are we all confused yet?? I am ..
