Yeah, it's really a shame that someone is CREATING a "divide" that does not naturally exist among fanciers.

The proposed MCC standard is simple enough for just about any level of reading comprehension, so I really don't understand where the problem comes in. I can only conclude that the attempt to create a political kerfuffle is deliberate and deliberately deceptive, from selfish motives. It's someone standing up to tell a lie when they could stay seated and tell the truth, as my dad would've said.

Regarding the Wheatens from Black Coppers I spoke of in post 2025, here she was as a new hatch (hard to spot, isn't she!):

Here she is all grown up at 7 months with siblings:

Here is the first Wheaten egg:

Here is the Roo:

About the only difference I can see between the Wheaten Roo and a Black Copper Roo is the Cinnamon wing triangle:

All the Wheatens hatched out as yellow chicks among the black and white BCs.

I am incubating the eggs now and anxiously await what pops out!

I can't be sure, I don't want the neighbor's to see me checking out a chicken's butt too closely.

Surely they've seen worse by now?

I'd be very interested in knowing what hatches from the Wheatens hatched from BCs. Are you running a Wheaten,or BC Roo with them?

I'd like to know how much feathering is too much feathering on the feet? Pics would be great!

I'am a newbee as far as the Marans Breed, but I'am very interested in the standard, and breeding mine for it. My Marans are really young so it will be awhile before the mature. They are from good lines though. I know my Blue Copper Marans will need work on the egg color. Not sure yet what I'll need to work on as far as the standard in feathering, and body type until they mature a bit.

I thank all on this thead who are much more knowledgable than I for sharing what they know about the Marans Breed. Thank You
