Man, those look NICE!!! Post pics of the parents, or did you buy the eggs? Have the seller post pics! I would like to get a start in blues, but so far all I have is one pullet that is nearing POL, comb still pink.

She is from bishopshchickens and she is pure Bev Davis lines, no copper showing on her neck so far though.... I just adore her. She is very gentle and tame without me even taming her.

onthespot-Is her name "I love you prettiest Marans ever" BC she is!!! (0:
I was talking to a MCC breeder about the genetics of Blues and Splashes and the consensious is if you want to breed them, you have a Splash pullet you need a roo without coppering. Since the Blue Coppers without the copper showing are still carrying the gene the offspring could turn out Coppered and you just gradually have to select away from it. Cree Farms has Blue and Splash Marans eggs and her line is Bev's just FYI. Seems like we are all adjusting the color on these birds one way or the other!

UPDATE!!!!! Checking email tonight and heard loud noises coming from with in the 'Bator.........looked in and they are rocking in the turner and I hear chirping. Took them out of the turner........we will see if we have any babies in the morning. *will bite nails all night*

I bought the eggs and they are Bev Davis lines. I will try to get photo of dad posted ASAP!

This is the best photo of the daddy that I have.......I think he was just being camera shy. The man I bought them from was so wonderful...he brought the parents for me to see when we met for the eggs. No babies yet!

Gorgeous. And I think of all the other varieties, the Blue Coppers are laying the darkest eggs after the BCMs right now. It seems to me there is some very nice Blue copper stock out there.
Very nice-good luck with the hatch

Nothing yet.....little buggers are still just rocking. In a way I am glad they haven't hatched yet, it always bothers me when they decide to go early.

Yes, he is gorgeous and such a lover. He was content to just sit in my arms and didn't mind anything going on around him. I so wanted to take him home with me.

I think I may have spoken too soon, maybe they aren't going to wait, we have quite a bit of chirping going on now!

I wish they would make up my mind.
