about the funky colored egg... Do you use DE internal grade? I have had that happen when I mixed DE with thier food as I was told... Totally wrecked the color on the egg eventually.. Make a note and don't feed through DE. I use a brand called White Mountain... It was hecka expensive and was supposed to rid them of parasites, which it may have but it also turned my #7's into #2's for a whole lay season...The whole flock... man that was a live and learn.

You can sex the Cuckoo Marans at hatch. Can't you do that with the Golden Cuckoo also? I did with my Cuckoo Marans, quite easily.

OK all done. 7 of 7 GCM's out (1 might have issues) 6 of 7 BCM's out and all look great! They are so cute! I will try and get pics later or tomorrow. 2 still need to dry.

my first eggs ever from my birds .......4 of my wheaten marans piped cant wait to see how they look , there from A cross of davis/ presley lines and if i would only keep my hands off the incubator insted of playing with controls i would of had many more and trying to do more than one hatch date and still use the turner is dumb lol
