Marans Thread for Posting Pics of Your Eggs, Chicks and Chickens

I want to start a flock of Marans SO BAD!

Im waiting for this guy to let me know if he is willing to give me some roo's he does'nt want!

But if anyone is giving away any unwanted Marans I would LOVE to help!!! Or if they are selling any low priced fertile eggs, or chicks.

Looks like God is telling me to raise blue coppers this year.

I have only two splash copper hens. They are laying like crazy, with WONDERFUL fertility.

OTOH -- I have FOUR black copper hens. They are caged right next door to the splash coppers. They are hardly laying anything. When they DO lay, they often eat the eggs before I can pick them up. And when I DO get the eggs, they are usually infertile.

Oh well. When Life gives you lemons, make blue coppers!

Speaking of which -- if anyone wants some blue copper chicks, let me know. The hens do NOT lay dark eggs, but the roos are from a good dark line. I am hoping for a big improvement in the next generation!

ETA: at midnight, I was watching TV and web surfing. At 3 AM, however, I was candling eggs and putting them in the hatcher.
